My oldest child is getting ready for kindergarten next year.  My second just turned two (this time next year he'll start Headstart).  And I have a two month old who was actually carried to term (a first for me!) and is an easy baby.  Home projects are always in progress.  The trim in the living room has recently been painted, and the built in bookshelves are next.  Just got a new-to-us refrigerator since the in-laws got a brand new one.  All in all, life is very good and domestic (still poor, but at least not hungry).  And kinda boring.

However...

My birthday just passed and if I don't have to spend my b-day money on new glasses or my teeth (and I'll know at the end of the month) I'm getting a new scanner.  This is enough to excite me quite a bit.

IF that does come to pass.  You can expect art from me on a weekly basis.  Yeah, you heard me.  Actual submissions.

Hopefully all the work will be done when we move in at the end of the month!

There's hole patching to be done, and painting!  And scraping the wallpaper from hell off that just freaking won't move effin'-dammit!
  • Mood: Emotional
  • Drinking: Lots and lots of water.
And it nearly killed me.

Seriously, blood pressure so high it makes the nurses look at you like "How is your aorta NOT exploding?!" is really, really bad.

I've just gotten out of the hospital.  My baby is still there in the NICU.  His name is Alastor William and he was born 7 weeks too early.  He's doing okay.  Provided he doesn't catch anything in the next three to six weeks he should stay that way.

Okay, I wanna draw but computer is still out, like it has been for going on 6 months, [This one is my hubby's.] and I really need a new task lamp for my desk.  The first one broke ages ago [thanks 'Lita] and the second one which cost a fortune came broken in the box. [I returned it.]  I think I've found another one that doesn't cost a fortune, but it's still more than I have at the moment.  Blech.

And once again, it seems my desire to draw is linked to coffee.

Oh FSM, gods of computers, the internet, and/or comics.  If you should see fit to fix my computer so that it will run outside of safe mode.  I will put an open challenge for Eighty-eight on Void, record the production of the battle for youTube, and... and... I dunno what else, BUT I'LL BE SUPER GRATEFUL!

*headdesk*
This sucks.

I've noted that my artistic productivity can be linked directly to coffee intake.

Must experiment further.

Also...

Shit hurts.

I don't even know why.

[Edit]

Okay, my battle--Doc and Derp vs. Hyperion--is up.  Go vote fairly.  I don't want you vote for me just because I told you to.  In fact, go vote for all the other battles and not mine.  I'm not gonna lie, what you see there is a rush job (rush not only on the drawing but on the scanning too).  I drew those four pages in 48 hours.  It's also plan C.

OMG I'M IN!

I don't know who my first round match-up is yet.

But, I'M SO EXCITED!

[01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and  re-post as The Controversial Survey?   Sure.

[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Shit NO.  Have you seen meth heads?!  Horrible open sores everywhere, and ruined teeth!  *shudder*  It's definitely best that stuff stays illegal.

[03] Abortion: for or against it?
Not something I would do personally, but I'm fine with it legally for the first trimester.

[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
Not if it was me.  :3

[05] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
I wouldn't smoke it.  I value my brain too much.  But filling our prisons with 97 percent non-violent offenders doesn't make sense--and because it's illegal people die every day over it.  Sure it hampers your ability to be a productive member of society, but what are we--communists?!  Just legalize it already.

[06] Are you for or against premarital sex?
True morality is based on fairness, premarital sex is only wrong to the potential bastard you could sire or partner you infect with a STD.  Stands to logic that safe sex is less wrong than unprotected sex.

[07] Do you believe in God?
Not a jot.  Believe in reincarnation, in human fairness, and charity though.

[8] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
It's... irritating to be sure, but the economic and political factors that are pushing the population to emigrate aren't their fault.  In fact, it can be traced to American trade agreements on corn.

[09] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
It would be better if it was given up for adoption or aborted.  A twelve year old body isn't likely to be able to carry to full term anyway.  You'd likely be saving the girl's ability to have children in the future or her life.  And even if the grandparents raised it the social stigma would likely prevent any chance at a normal life.

[10] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
If only because of the round about way they made it illegal.  It's a long story, look it up.

[11] Should the war in Iraq be called off?
I do not know anything about war.  I do not even pretend to know anything about war, and I want my politicians to admit the same.  Leave war to the generals.

[12] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
For the ancient, ill, and in pain--no I don't agree.

[13] Do you believe in spanking your children?
I do occasionally spank my daughter (never in anger), but most of the time we use time out (or the 'naughty chair') she hates that more than the spankings.  It's more important to be consistent and swift on what you punish for more than what you punish with.  She will eventually out grow these methods (she's two now), and we will switch to grounding, privilege removal, etc. as she gets older.

[14] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
The idea bothers me.  I'm not sure.

[15] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
HA ha HA HAHA ha!  No.

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 20, 2009, 10:29 AM

Monitor still broken... and now so is my nose (two-year-olds can head butt hard!) my venerable tablet's cord is starting to fray near the top... my car needs work done... I was planning on going back to school...

...and I'm pregnant.

Yeah, so I'm on borrowed computer time.  -_-;;

Is anyone going?  I *might* go, if I can find someone to split the table/room costs with.

[link]

It's a fairly small con, which I think would be good for my first one, since I'm such a nervous person.  The crowd won't be so big.

So who want's to split the costs with me?  :D

Just finished re-reading Scott McCloud's 'Making Comics' for probably the hundredth time--it's more a book about storytelling and human psychology, almost nothing in it about drawing at all (there are other books for that). It's truly an awesome book that I would recommend to anyone!
